The tourbillon is (usually) to compensate for an error in the accuracy of the gravitational influence of a special device in Wristwatches and pocket watches. To changes in the position of a pocket watch (and the consequent timing inaccuracy) aside, Abraham-Louis Breguet (1747-1823) invented the tourbillon in 1800. In this, the escapement wheel, the anchor and is so-called balance on a small plate in a bogie, a sitting on the shaft of the second wheel cage installed. The second drive is screwed to the bottom of the bogie and permanently installed on the lower board. The bogie, the balance swings in the middle just above the shaft of the seconds wheel rotates about the fixed fourth wheel bolted. Here, the impulse of the escape wheel runs on this. Thus, when the second wheel rotates once per minute, the tourbillon makes with (the board) this rotation. This contact sheet or focus error no longer occurs once in a minute or even (depending on the tourbillon). In the last 200 years 700 tourbillons were built just because they are considered to be very difficult to build. For this reason, tourbillon watches are expensive and highly sought after. Setting a tourbillon clock requires a high level of expertise and care.
